BASIC BRUSH LESS MOTOR USING A MICRO SWITCH
This is a basic brush less motor. Note the micro switch on the round peg. The spinner touches this switch which turns on the coil above attracting the magnet. Past the switch the coil is turned off allowing the magnet to continue on.

SIMPLEST DC MOTOR
PARTS
Copper wire
Wooden base
One or two magnets
Battery case with 4 AA cells
This motor is based on the coil being turned on and off by an insulation on the shaft itself. On one side of the shaft touching the holder, all the varnish is removed. On the other end, only half side is removed. So the electric flow gets interrupted to the coil.

TOY ELECTRIC MOTORS
I build my first e-motor when I was 10 years sold. Had a book "Boy Mechanic". Today, there is a big leap in advancement towards BRUSH LESS MOTORS where the magnets are rotating as opposed to old motors where the magnet is stationary.
For the motor to be investigatory, it must be OPEN, meaning it can be seen inside out. I will display here some of these old style and new style motors.
Thank You.
